Each year usually
during March, Autodesk "retire" a version of their products and it is
the turn of any 2007 based Autodesk products to be "retired" in March
2010.
This means that it
will not be possible to upgrade a 2007 based Autodesk product after 15th March
2010, instead you will need to buy the software again from scratch with the cost implications of doing so.
Therefore, the clock
is ticking and the full list of products affected is as follows: -
AutoCAD 2007
Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007
AutoCAD Electrical 2007
AutoCAD LT 2007
AutoCAD Map 3D 2007
AutoCAD Mechanical 2007
AutoCAD Raster Design 2007
Autodesk VIZ 2007
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2007
AutoCAD MEP 2007
AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite 9
Revit Architecture 9
AutoCAD Revit MEP Suite 2
AutoCAD Revit Structure Suite 4
Autodesk Inventor Professional 11
Autodesk Inventor Routed Systems Suite 11
Autodesk Inventor Simulation Suite 11
Autodesk Inventor Suite 2007
Autodesk Inventor Professional Suite 11
NEW FEATURE TRAINING
In order to fully benefit from the new features, it would be
necessary to have an update training session as there are some significant
changes including: -
A new interface based upon Ribbon Panels rather than toolbars
(although the toolbars can be re-loaded but look like they could be phased out).
A new layer interface including some new layering features.
New dimensioning commands including parametrics.
A new dimension leader creating facility.
An easier way of scaling text, dimensions and other forms of
annotation for printing.
General enhancements to traditional features like array,
hatching, viewports, attributes, measurement, purge, xrefs etc.
If you have any defaults, template files and other content
you are used to in your current version, this will need to be saved ready for
setting up in the new version and is something I can help with.
Please do not hesitate to contact
me to discuss your options further. I look forward to hearing from you.
